Key Responsibilities:
As a Retail Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing store operations, supervising and motivating your team, ensuring that targets are met, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Your daily responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Supervising the Store Team: You will be responsible for leading and motivating the sales team, ensuring they provide excellent customer service, meet sales targets, and adhere to operational procedures. You’ll act as the first line of support for your team, resolving any issues and providing guidance when needed. You will also be responsible for managing staff schedules and ensuring adequate coverage for peak times.
- Customer Service Excellence: Providing a consistently high level of customer service is key to this role. You will assist customers with their queries, resolve complaints, and ensure that every customer interaction is positive. Your ability to engage with customers, solve problems, and maintain a friendly, helpful attitude will set the tone for the rest of the team.
- Sales and Target Achievement: As a Retail Supervisor, you will be responsible for driving store sales and ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales targets. You will analyze sales data, identify trends, and suggest strategies for improvement. Regularly reviewing product performance and implementing promotional activities will be part of your strategy to boost sales and improve the store’s overall performance.
- Training and Development: A key part of your role will be overseeing the training and development of new and existing staff members. You will ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform effectively. Additionally, you’ll provide on-the-job training, conduct performance reviews, and identify any areas where staff may need additional support or development.
- Store Operations: You will play a significant role in the operational management of the store, ensuring everything runs smoothly. This includes ensuring that stock is replenished, products are correctly priced, and the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing. You will also help with the opening and closing procedures and cash management to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Inventory and Stock Management: Ensuring stock levels are well maintained will be part of your role. You will assist with stocktaking, inventory management, and ensuring that products are on display in an organized, attractive way. You will work closely with the stockroom team to ensure efficient stock replenishment and timely deliveries.
- Health and Safety Compliance: As a Retail Supervisor, you will ensure that the store complies with all health and safety regulations. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment for both customers and staff. This includes ensuring the store is clean and hazard-free, and staff are trained in safety protocols.
- Reporting and Administration: You will be responsible for managing daily reports, tracking sales performance, and identifying areas where improvements can be made. You will also assist with administrative duties, such as employee timekeeping and managing returns, exchanges, and other store-related paperwork.
- Visual Merchandising: You will assist with implementing visual merchandising standards in the store, ensuring that products are presented in an appealing and organized way. You will work closely with the merchandising team to create attractive displays that drive sales and create an engaging shopping experience for customers.
Salary and Benefits:
The Retail Supervisor position offers a competitive salary range of £22,000 to £26,000 per year, depending on experience. This role is full-time, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
To be considered for the Retail Supervisor position, you should have at least 2 years of retail experience, with some of that experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
